Ropes Course Inspection / Construction Videos
Following a format of visual tutorial similar to the television documentaries "This Old House" and "The New Yankee Workshop," Ropes Course Inspection / Construction covers the dos and don'ts of ropes course construction, inspection details, product summaries and an introduction to safety as well as belay practices, course operation procedures, and other information pertinent to the ropes course industry. Total video length is approximately 60 minutes.

DVD #1 includes ropes course inspection, construction, utility pole construction, tree construction, climbing tower construction, through bolting and wrap around belay methods. Also includes harness fitting, belay practices, lobster clawing, cable grab systems, and much more.

DVD #2 includes ropes course product break testing to include terminations with u-clip, fist grips, and ferrules, pulley break test, staple break tests, two forms of cut a-way rescues, belay escape rescue, bowline on a bite and figure 8 knot tying w/ dressing, and much more.

These DVD's are a MUST for the library of any organization that utilizes a ropes course. It's also a good tool to review before a professional inspection or recertification training. The scenes were shot "live" on location during course construction and inspections conducted during the spring of 2001. The methods described follow common industry practices and building practice of EBL, endorsed by a certified structual engineering firm. In some cases, the video shows examples how to exceed common practices due to special circumstances and EBL construction standards / preferences.

Ropes Course Inspection/ Construction was produced by EBL and reflects the body of knowledge of the EBL staff, which collectively includes 85 years of ropes course experience and in accordance with the Professional Ropes Course Association ropes course installation standards.
